• Portable Air Conditioner with Casement Windows?

Casement windows were just installed in my room and unfortunately, I don’t have an Air Conditioner hole in the wall anymore. I do have a portable Air Conditioner someone gave me. Seeing how the summers are going to be insanely hot, is there a way i could use the portable AC in my room?

Also, can i just leave the vent pipes inside my room, like on a bowl or something to catch the water coming out?

  • Why Do Bugs Enter My Room Even When The Windows and Doors Are Sealed Tight?

Every summer I face this problem, my Air Conditioner is on, and my Windows are closed my door is also closed, yet I see small beetles, moths and mosquitoes enter my room, this is ridiculous. There are no holes or windows open, my room is relatively clean, except for the clothes which I tend to lie everywhere, the room has no odor, why are bugs coming in?

My grandmother had this brand new air conditioner in her house and she did not need it any more and my room with all my electronics was way to hot to deal with. I am running this in a 13 by 20 room in my house.. is this too much for my room to handle? and annually on average will it raise my electric bill a lot? Thanks again!

  • Central Air Conditioning vs two bedroom air conditioners. Any suggestions?

I have been told my Central Air conditioner may need compressor (another company). My company has already charged me for maintenance ($75), a part ($300) and tripping breaker($45) and new breaker I bought ($15) and it still does not work. It was working fine before they did the maintenance check. Earlier in year it leaked and permanently stained my living room wall. $5000- $6000 if I want brand new AC (other company). I am not too keen on central AC right now—seems like waste of money which I do not have. I have considered just getting $600 air conditioners for my two bedrooms and use fans if I am elsewhere in townhouse. Or getting ceiling fans but my place has no overhead wiring so that would be hastle even though I would save money.

I live in a older home with electrical problems. (example: the computer and microwave can not run at the same time, because the electricity goes out.) I need to purchase an air conditioner, because I now have a 6 month old baby and I do not want him over heating this summer. Can someone suggest what sort of AC I can purchase to cool a room with high ceilings that is more than 20ft wide.
